Apple has just released patent for a new speaker in their smallest iPods. The patent is for a dome shaped speaker that will discreetly provide the ability for people to play their music on the iPod shuffle or even on the iPod nano. The speaker is so small that it will not even add any extra bulk to the iPods.
Many people believe that apple will also start marketing the nano as a wrist-worn device through the integration of Nike+ exercise software. This will allow apple to start targeting those that are interested in using these iPods while they are exercising.
There are many new speculations about how Apple will continue to develop these iPods. Some analysts believe that the nanos of the future will allow users to use Siri through the nano, that the nano will be programmed with a timer and an audible alarm and that it may even be able to relay social media updates from an iPad or iPhone of the user.
As the speaker is developed and introduced with the iPods, Apple may see an increase in sales with this product. Although Tinm Cook said that the iPod is a “large and important product for the company” the prices of the iPods have been dropping.
With some new marketing and a new speaker, Apple may be able to rev up the sales of this classic product.
